Tech musings and insights

On software development, start-ups, and innovation.

For many people in software, the journey starts in Computer Science. Mine started in Industrial Design.

Industrial Design taught me to look at the world through the lens of usability, human behavior, and the balance between form and function. It’s a discipline anchored in understanding how people interact with tools, environments, and systems—often in subtle ways they can’t easily describe.

When I transitioned into software development and later into engineering leadership, that mindset came with me.

For more than 20 years, I’ve built web applications and led engineering teams with a philosophy rooted in design thinking: technology should make life easier—for the people using the software and the people building it. That dual focus on UX and DX has guided my approach to architecture, team leadership, ITIL-aligned processes, and cross-functional collaboration with Product.

It now plays an even more important role in my AI work.

Whether piloting AI-powered automation for documentation, integrating LLMs into developer workflows, or shaping product direction for AI-assisted experiences, I apply the same design principles: clarity, usability, transparency, and trust. Great AI doesn’t just “work”—it needs to feel natural, intuitive, and supportive for both end users and developers adopting new tooling. My background lets me bridge that gap, making AI initiatives more effective, more ethical, and more human-centered.

Throughout my career, I’ve built high-performing teams, improved service reliability, introduced practices like Behavior-Driven Development, and partnered deeply with product and operations to deliver scalable, intuitive SaaS solutions.

I’m always looking for a new opportunity where I can bring this blend of Industrial Design, engineering leadership, and AI-driven innovation to an organization ready to build what’s next.
